Design Technology

At Horwich Parish, we ensure that our topics are inspiring, rigorous and engaging so that our children can flourish and let their light shine. Every child is given the opportunity to use their creativity and imagination to be successful in
the work they complete. Children are encouraged to persevere, problem solve and work individually and collectively to develop their knowledge and skills within Design Technology.

We follow the Kapow scheme for Design Technology and at the end of each unit of work, children are challenged to reflect on their work by completing an evaluation of their final product. Children’s opinions are valued and respected
as they help one another to achieve their goal. We encourage children to be respectful and considerate of the needs and opinions of others as they reflect on the work they have done.
