Dear Parents and Carers,

Leadership arrangements for Autumn Term

Please look out for a separate letter from Mr D Pritchard, Chairman of the Governors, concerning the arrangements for the leadership of our school next term.

Local authority review

The school was the subject of a planned mini-inspection which is called a local authority review, and this took place on Wednesday. We are pleased to report that the visitors agreed our school is doing really well, and has improved further since our Ofsted inspection in November.

 School reports

Parents of children in Years 1, 3, 4 and 5 should have received their reports – please return the reply slip if you have not done so already. The remaining year groups will send out their reports once the SATs results are known for Years 2 and 6, and once the Learning Journeys are finalised for Reception. This should be within the next two weeks.

Parent collaboration

From September we would like to perhaps set up a parent group who would be able to contribute to ideas and initiatives and give a parent’s viewpoint so all stakeholders are informed and all views are gathered. The group would meet approximately once every half term before the end of the school day or later if more helpful to parents interested. Please could you email if interested in sharing and contributing to help move our school forward. It would be great to gain a selection of parents across the different year groups. We will review at the end of term if parents feel useful. Many thanks.

Year 6 – Fiver Challenge update

Profits have now topped £1500, and we are thrilled with the outcome for all our Year 6 pupils. We are having the project mentioned in the Bolton News, and we also have two more winning groups. Kebab Xtreme won this week’s Advertising Competition, and win £50 in Amazon vouchers. Badge Ninjas were also second runners up in this national competition.
